KAMPALA — Uganda is expanding investment in cold chain logistics infrastructure as businesses and agricultural stakeholders strengthen supply chains to improve export performance and support value-added agribusiness.

New projects include refrigerated warehouses, temperature-controlled transport systems, modern food storage facilities, and digital logistics platforms that help preserve agricultural products while improving delivery efficiency to regional and international markets.

Business analysts say cold chain infrastructure is becoming a major competitive advantage for Uganda's export economy. Improved storage and transportation systems are expected to reduce food waste, enhance product quality, expand market access, and increase income opportunities for producers and exporters.

Authorities are also encouraging partnerships between logistics providers, agribusiness companies, and private investors to accelerate supply chain modernization while supporting innovation across food processing and distribution industries.

Industry leaders believe continued investment in cold chain logistics will strengthen Uganda's position as a leading agricultural exporter in East Africa while encouraging long-term private-sector growth.

As commercial investment continues to expand, Uganda is reinforcing its commitment to export competitiveness, logistics modernization, and sustainable business development.
