LOMÉ — Togo has launched an ambitious infrastructure expansion program designed to improve transportation networks, strengthen logistics capabilities, and support long-term economic growth.
Government officials announced that several major projects are being prioritized, including road upgrades, logistics corridor improvements, and investments linked to the strategic Port of Lomé, one of West Africa's busiest maritime gateways.
Economic experts say the infrastructure push could significantly enhance Togo's position as a regional trade and transit hub, facilitating the movement of goods between coastal and landlocked countries across West Africa. Improved connectivity is also expected to reduce transportation costs and attract additional private-sector investment.
Authorities emphasized that modern infrastructure remains a key pillar of the country's development strategy. The projects are expected to generate employment opportunities while supporting business activity in logistics, construction, manufacturing, and trade-related sectors.
As regional commerce continues to expand, Togo is positioning itself to capitalize on growing demand for efficient transport and logistics services, strengthening its influence within West Africa's evolving economic landscape.
